Universal CityWalk

Holidays are fun to celebrate around the world. My favorite is Halloween because I get to dress up and pretend to be someone or something else and get into character. Most people would say Christmas because:
#1 its a month long celebration
#2 you receive presents, and
#3 get to visit family you haven't seen for the longest time.
But that is my second favorite holiday. Now back to Halloween.

Halloween day marks the last day of my trip. My family and I went to Universal CityWalk and Toluca Lake  for Halloween. I wanted to be Michael Jackson for Halloween but they ran out of the costumes at the stores so I settled as a ghetto looking doctor.

My niece dressed up as Dorthy and my nephew as Spongebob.

As we entered some of the stores, I met the coolest sales clerks dressed up as a bear and whatever she was...

Then it was off walking around separating myself from the crew...I took a bunch of photos of random strangers whom I thought had the coolest costumes and anything else...

Beetle Juice and lego my ego as I call it.

Universal Citywalk. I love visiting this place. Sometimes I just sit there at a coffee shop and watch the passers go by. Its my moment to relax and appreciate life as it goes by so quickly.

A closer look at Hard Rock Cafe...well more of the guitar.

For some odd reason, I'm so interested in taking King Kong's picture. I took about 10 photos of it.

As I conclude my final day of my Southern California trip, I'd say this was the most fun I have had traveling with family. Other than free food and free rides which is always the best when traveling with family, but I had a great time and someday I plan to move to LA.

Adios Amigo! Until next time!

Pink's

Ask yourself this question, how do you feel when you eat your favorite food?

When I eat my favorites, I feel like that fat kid from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory who just can't wait to eat. I don't have the words to describe what I feel when I bite into my favorite foods; its like a gush of rainbow flavors oozes out in my mouth when I eat pasta, burgers, fries, sushi, steak, hotdogs, ice cream, cake, etc etc etc...ok I can obsess over food at times but I'm not ashamed to be a food lover and an over-eater...but who isn't when it comes to great food, right!

Well here's one place that can make you feel so incredibly happy...Pink's! Its a family owned hot dog stand that has been around for 70 years. Located in Los Angeles on Melrose Ave.

And here is what I ate:

So juicy! Only if I can eat it everyday...

Land of the Stars

When we think of Hollywood, we think of all the fame and fortune celebrities have. You expect to see singers, actors, directors, etc walking down the street getting chased by paparazzi.

Well when I visited Hollywood Boulevard with my cousins, we didn't get to meet any famous people other than Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Superman, Clone Trooper, and Yoda impersonators. I wasn't disappointed thou.

This is how my night went:

My first stop was at Grauman's Chinese Theater which is known to be the most famous theater in the world. The theater opened in 1927 and where the movie premiers are held and scores of the most famous movie stars and directors had left their names, footprints, and handprints. (see photo below)

I was standing by Shirley Temple's spot...

Then I spotted this from behind:

Michael Jackson's This Is It was held the same day but at a different location...sucks for me!

Right next to the Chinese theater was the Kodak Theatre where the Academy Awards are held every year. I didn't take photos of the theater...I don't know why.

Along the Hollywood Boulevard, the impersonators are working their block...below are the worst of the worse.

These impersonators weren't the coolest people to take pictures with and not in character either...they're just there to act like idiots.

Then we walked down the street.

I was delighted because I got to see all my favorite actors but I wasn't excited about it as the other tourists were.

After Hollywood Blvd. we were off to Pink's.

Pink's is my next blog...so check back later for that.

Until then, ciao!

A day at Venice Beach

I know its 2010 but let's back track here for a second...the day was October 29, 2009. I accompanied my cousins to Santa Monica for some school thing. While my cousin's wife was at a meeting in school, my cousin and I hit Venice Beach for a couple of hours. And here I explain how our 2 hours had gone.

Exhibit # 1:

Driving up to this place was one of the best sceneries I've seen, but got frustrated when looking around for parking. But anyway, it was very quiet and relaxing. Then I got excited when I saw exhibit # 2.

Exhibit #2:

No need to explain. Love the movie! Hats off to MJ! One of my inspirations.

Exhibit #3:

We got our grub at this restaurant. It was good!!

Exhibit #4:

I ordered Cajun fries and cousin ordered some cheese tortillas or something...just look at how juicy that looks! yum!

Exhibit #5:

While eating lunch at the Sidewalk, these 2 guys were entertaining the crowd. The guy in the black shirt was rapping while this dude in a Hawaiian shirt and everything else he's got on was singing I don't know what. We all thought he was a lunatic but suprisingly entertaining (I don't mean that with sarcasm).

Exhibit #6:

Walking along the strip, I noticed there was many many, what filipinos would call it is "Tiangge" which means flee markets. But no flee market can top the Philippines!

Exhibit #6:

Every marijuana lover's dream! When I was passing by, some guy was trying to invite me in. I just ignored him and kept walking. hehehehe...Only in Cali! We are free to exercise our rights to the fullest extent and try to get as many things legalized...whatever that may be.

Exhibit #7:

Yes they had the best WROLDS best Funnel Cakes! They had this sign up for the longest time and they didn't even bother to correct their spelling. But they weren't kidding about those funnel cakes. They were pretty damn good!

Exhibit #8:

Yes WROLDS BEST Funnel Cakes! Only at Venice Beach, CA. Really is the best (minus the sarcasm)!

Exhibit #9:

The beach in clear blue skies.

Well that concludes the 2 hours of site seeing at Venice Beach in Los Angeles, CA. One of the best places to visit when you're in California. I plan to move to L.A. some day because of the weather, I want to work there, and explore it more.

Until then, Ciao!

A New Year 2010

Good Morning everyone. It is 2:28 am on New Year's day writing on my blog that I haven't been on for two months...I guess why you all are wondering why I'm online rather than partying. The reason is all my friends are with their families celebrating the New Year and so am I. Another reason why I haven't been blogging is due to, how should I say this, hmmmm..well I'm just going to say it~being a lost puppy.
I'll explain why. I have been back in the United States for about three months now and used the economy as an excuse why I can't find a job and I have embedded in my mind that I am going back to the Philippines very soon for a certain "something" which is true.I'm not certain enough I should go back because people think I'm nuts to go back and I have it going good here.I'm also doing the "something" for a friend who believes I can do it and I have a chance of getting to the top and its uplifting that someone does actually believes in you.
So those are reasons I became a FREAKIN bum in my house waking up at noon, eat, then workout, dinner, then do some internet surfing.
With the free time I had for the three months, I could've done something useful. With all of you wondering what that may be, I will elaborate on that.
I happen to be good at many things. I was called "Good at everything" by friends (which I know is hard to believe and who would give me such a title).
My life skills are:
1. I am one helluva a dancer! Dancing since I was 5 and won a dance contest. I do mostly hip-hop dancing.
2. I consider myself being a good hairstylist and a make-up artist. I have been practicing since the age of 10.
3. I'm a good drawer and painter. I stopped because I got lazy.Poor excuse...I know.
4. I have a great eye when it comes to fashion. Im very particular about details on everything down to blouses, shirts, pants, accessories, etc. If I had all the money in the world I would be dressed in LV all day..everyday. One day I want to fullfill that dream of becoming a fashion designer like Chanel, Gucci, Elie Saab whom I adore.
5. Playing the piano (I'm not all that good but I'm perfecting my skills. Level 3 I'd say)
6. I had done a photoshoot with a friend. I was the photographer, hairstylist, makeup artist, and wardrobe stylist. I haven't even started on the photoshop yet since it takes a really long time to photoshop. I am a perfectionist so it takes me time to visualize and get certain details correct or the way I want it to look.
7. I can cook but I'm no Martha Stewart. When I'm not a lazy ass, I cook pretty well. I want to start a Julia Child session just like Julie & Julia. (Watch the movie; it inspired me to write this post)
8. I wanted to be a movie actress as a child but never really got into it because...I guess I'm skeptical and scared to even pursue it. Maybe I should start now and be fearless. Growing up, people say I should be an actress or comedian because I have great facial expressions, impersonations, and made people laugh. When someone would say that, in my head its a "YES I should" but wouldn't know how to pursue it.

Everything that I have described are my skills and life aspirations. I don't know where or how to start pursuing them since I get discouraged by people's opinions and feel unworthy to even try.

But that all changes now.Its 2010 and I'm planning to take over the world by storm! If I don't start now, when will I ever start.

Words of wisdom: "Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can."

Start a new.Everyday is a new beginning.

I welcome 2010 and will be a memorable one.
